So a full glass of mulled wine has tumbled out of your hand and onto your beautiful white carpet. So what do you do now? A wet dry vacuum will suck the liquid out of the carpet. Make direct contact with the head of the vacuum hose and the carpet itself. Keep the nozzle in one place on the stain for at least 10 seconds to make sure that you get it all. Lift and place the vacuum instead of dragging it around to prevent the stain from spreading.

The next step is to spray cleaning soltion directly on the stain. You can easiliy make your own by mixing 1/4 teaspoon of soap with 1 cup of water and then putting it in a spray bottle. Apply cleaning solution to the entire stain, but do not over do it and completely soak the carpet. Take a breath, try and relax, and let the cleaner sit on the carpet for about 5 minutes.

Get a dry towel and blot the stain starting on the outside of it and move inward toward the center of the stain. Repeat this dabbing motion a few times until it feels pretty dry. You then want to spray water directly on the stain. Pull the vacuum back out suck up all of the moisture. You want to make sure all of the soapy cleaning solution is completely out of the carpet so if you need to, repeat spraying water on the stain and then vacuum until it's totally dry. And there you have it - a stain free clean carpet!
