Appliances

Take a walk through your home and double check to make sure that all of your appliances are fully functioning. If you haven’t used an appliance for a few weeks, run it through a cycle. This includes, the washing machine and dryer, kitchen stove and oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave etc. If you find one of your appliances is working poorly or is totally broken it’s a good idea to replace it. This doesn’t mean you have to buy the most expensive one but many homeowners will be impressed with new, clean appliances and encourage them put down an offer faster.

Walls

The condition of your walls are more on the cosmetic side of things as opposed to being a part of the structure of your home. If there are holes in the walls its a good idea to fill them in with putty or have a professional fix them. You can however, skip giving the entire home a wall makeover and you don’t need to repaint all of the walls. Most potential buyers can see beyond the current wall colors and condition and will be repainting them anyways.

Bathrooms

If you home is more than 10 years old it’s likely that at least one bathroom in your home is outdated or at least not super modern. The walls might be pink or the countertops might be old looking. Bathroom remodels can be quite costly, and this mostly likely is not a bill you’ll have to pay. When potential buyers come to see your home, they will be able to see beyond the outdated bathroom. Everyone has their own personal taste when it comes to interior design, and will want to put their own touches on a house when they buy a new one.
