LIVING and DINING

The roomy living area has plenty of space for the entire family to gather with a large L-shaped sofa, two side chairs, ceiling fans and wall-mounted flat panel TV, and is all glass in front, allowing for dazzling views. The newly redone fireplace has blue fire glass for a cool display.

A large wood dining table and chairs grace the dining area and the counter has four bar stools for snacks or quick meals. The tiled kitchen has brand new granite counters, side by side refrigerator, subway tile back splash (new photos to come), recessed lighting, pantry and a contemporary hood allowing for better ocean views from the kitchen.

BED and BATH

The home has four bedrooms. The master suite in the rear of the rental has a king bed, ceiling fan, wall-mounted flat panel TV and tiled en-suite bath with a tub/shower combination. Two middle bedrooms have both a twin and a double bed. The front bedroom has a queen bed. The spacious hall bath also has a tub/shower combination and a half bath is located just down the hall from the kitchen, across the hall from the queen bedroom.

OUTDOOR SPACE

The rental has limited outdoor space, but then the beach is right out front! A small side deck is large enough for one chair and the gas BBQ. The strip of “patio” in front accommodates several resin chairs, but is not wide enough for a table.

A shared heavy-duty Speed Queen washer and dryer are located in the garage, with one parking space for this unit. There is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water for rinsing the sand away.

THE LOCATION

The home is situated a short stroll from the Balboa Pier, Balboa Pavilion and surrounding boutiques and eateries. Visit Ruby's Diner for burgers and salads at the pier’s end, where fishermen ply their trade and dolphins frequently play. Walk the kids to the playground at the base of the pier with an open, grassy lawn for running around and playing games. Balboa Village offers dozens of dining options - Mint Leaf and Great Mex are casual local hangouts, BJs Pizza and Cruisers are known for pizza, and Newport Landing and Harborside have terrific seafood and beautiful bay views from their dining rooms. The Saloon at Harborside has happy hour 11-7 every day! Catch the ferry to Balboa Island via bicycle or on foot to stroll among coastal-chic shops and cafes. Deep sea fishing and whale watching excursions can be booked through Davey’s Locker at the Pavilion.

Great location and lots of space; beautiful big windows and view; house is a bit worn and shows the wear and tear, but they had it clean and tidy; good value for location
We had an issue with construction next door, which wasn’t disclosed; maybe was a temporary thing; they responded right away and tried to deal with it
I would rent again for the price
